What if Obama Wins?

What It Means to Conservative Christians

So what if McCain is a low-down double-dealing two-faced self-serving egocentric liberal Republican? So what if he’s done everything to disqualify himself from Presidential consideration by both Republicans and conservatives? He’s still by far the better choice for President than Barack Obama. And not having any President at all is not an option.

Nevertheless, to the dismay of intelligent, conservative Christians who actually know the difference between socialism and freedom, it’s starting to look like Obama might actually win this 2008 election. What are we to make of that?

I want to bring your attention to things that may give you hope and joy after all.

The first one is this. To get a Ronald Reagan, God put Jimmy Carter in office first. The national ruin that Carter brought on this nation opened the door for the fix, which was President Reagan. And now, perhaps this Barack is unwittingly preparing the way for a far greater man in office than we have ever seen before.

Remember the scripture, “the powers that be are ordained by God” (Romans 13:1). We know that God is concerned about our rulers, even more so than we. You’ve been praying for America. You’ve been praying that God would forgive and save this nation. You’ve been praying for good leaders, leaders who will restore us to freedom, independence, conservativism and capitalism. Well, is you faith so little that you think God has not heard you? He heard. Do you think he will not act? The scriptures say, “If we know he hears us, we know that we have the petitions we desired of him” (1 John 5:15). That alone is reason to rejoice.

There’s one other point I want to make before continuing about how an Obama Presidency could be good for us conservative Christians.

All medicine is poisonous if taken in the wrong dosage. Even water will kill you if there’s too much of it. Coumarin is a deadly poison. It stops coagulation and if you take it, you bleed to death. It’s used in rat poison. However, some people have coagulation problems; their blood coagulates too much and they’re in danger of dying. Coumarin, given in the right dosage, will counteract that and save a person’s life. What is poison in the wrong dosage is life-saving medicine in the right dosage.

Think of an Obama Presidency as a deadly, destructive poison; however, God’s going to use it to heal certain ills in America that we have not been able to deal with so far. That is what we’ve been praying for, isn’t it? Haven’t we been praying for God to intervene and help us? Well, why should we think he didn’t hear us? Of course he heard us. You prayed, didn’t you? We Christians may cry at the disaster of an Obama Presidency, but let’s try to figure out what it is God is trying to do, and how he’s going about to heal this country.

For years the liberals have been attacking the black race in America, deliberately making them dependent on the government. They’ve destroyed the black family. Today, seventy percent of black children are born to unmarried mothers and the father is frequently nowhere to be found. In the 1950s, the black illegitimate birth rate was comparable to the while illegitimate birth rate. Since then, white illegitimacy rates have risen slightly, but black illegitimacy rates have skyrocketed. Why? Because the liberal welfare laws forbid black mothers to get married or lose their welfare income. And frequently the welfare black unmarried mothers get greater income than what the child’s father is making. Plus the welfare amount increases with each new birth. The destructive liberal policies and laws have deliberately destroyed the black family and culture.

White liberals have erased black industry and self-respect. They have put them on welfare and imbued them with victim-mentality. Now the blacks think all whites hate them, that America is a racist nation, and that white people owe them a living. That level of attack on a whole culture and race of people in the United States is despicable and God will not hold the liberals guiltless.

When conservatives, white and black alike, see the sad state of the typical black Democrat, it makes us angry. We fight against these destructive welfare laws, which gives the liberals even more lying ammunition because they tell the blacks we fight against welfare laws because we hate black people and want them all to die, or at least to be our slaves.

Victim-minded, welfare-shackled black people make conservative Christians angry; we’re angry that they’ve been victimized and we’re angry that so many black people bought into it. But how does God feel about that? It makes him sad. It breaks his heart. He grieves that so many of his own children, his own creation, whom he loves, whom he died to save, are in such a miserable condition.

Christians get angry but God is grieved. Which do you think would come up with a better plan to deal with this problem in America? Christians or God?

An Obama Presidency will in one swoop take away all the arguments and lies the liberals have come up with. It will display for all to see that anyone, black and white, can prosper in the United States, and that America is not a racist nation.

It’s true, liberals will just come up with other arguments, other lies, but this big lie will be both exposed and broken by God. It will save millions of black souls. That is something big and something only God could do for the United States in answer to prayer, by bringing Barack Obama to the Presidency.

But wait, there is more. What else can God do to right a great grievous wrong that conservative Christians are missing? With an Obama Presidency, perhaps this naïve person will actually bring about equal rights to gay people. Maybe he will end discrimination in the American military. Maybe he will be used by God to bring human rights in marriage to gays.

Does that sound like the opposite of what conservative Christians are praying for? It’s what they pray for every time they say, “Nevertheless, not my will but Thine be done.” Conservative Christians are guilty of a great wrong and great abuse of other people in their attitude towards gay people, just as those conservative Christians in the American South were wrong about slavery 150 years ago. They fought and died to preserve slavery, and they taught it from their pulpits, yet they were wrong. Today they say, “If I had been living when my ancestors were living, I would not have condoned slavery.”

Another group also said that. The Jews told Jesus, “If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.”

To right this grievous wrong, just as he righted the sin of slavery, God has to take the government out of the hands of conservative Christians for awhile in order to work his good work.

Therefore, rejoice! God has not deserted us. God has heard our prayers. God will work with this nation to bring about his own good will, whether we like what he does or not.
